Meter Tracker Pro is an Android app for recording electricity meter readings and estimating bills. This policy explains exactly what the app stores, where it goes, and how to get rid of it. There are no adverts, no trackers, and nothing is sold or shared with third parties.

What the app stores

Meter photo backup is a setting you control. It is on by default, under Settings → Back up meter photos.

On: a copy of each photo is uploaded to private cloud storage that only your signed-in account can reach. Nobody else can list, read or download it — not other users of the app, and not anyone with the link, because there are no public links. Photos come back automatically on a new phone or after a reinstall.

Off: photos stay on your device and are uploaded nowhere. The trade-off is real and worth knowing: if you uninstall the app or lose the device, those photos are gone. Your readings and bills are not — those are always in your account.

What the app does not do

No advertising, and no advertising identifier is collected or used.
No analytics or behavioural tracking.
No selling, renting or sharing of your data with anyone.
No location data. The app does not request or record your location.
No access to your contacts, calendar, call logs or messages.

Permissions the app asks for

Camera — only when you tap the button to photograph a meter. Where the photo then goes is up to you; see the note above.
Notifications — only when you switch a reminder on. Decline it and everything else still works.
Internet — to sync your readings with your account.

Service providers

The app is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging and Crashlytics). Your data is stored on Google's infrastructure and is governed by Firebase's privacy terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

If meter photo backup is on, the photo files themselves are stored with Backblaze B2, in a private bucket. Access is granted per request and expires within the hour; every request is tied to your signed-in account, so one account can never reach another's photos.

Both act as service providers processing data on your behalf. Nothing is sold, rented or shared with anyone else.

How long data is kept

Your readings and account data are kept for as long as your account exists, because the app's value is in its history. Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days. Delete your account and everything described above is removed.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all of its data at any time, in two ways:

In the app — open Settings → Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your meters, readings, resets, bills, backup snapshots, profile and sign-in credentials, removes every meter photo from cloud storage, and clears the photos held on the device.
By request — if you have already uninstalled the app, see the account deletion page.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want to keep it: the app can produce PDF and CSV exports from the Reports screen.

Children

Meter Tracker Pro is a household utility tool and is not directed at children under 13. No data is knowingly collected from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it and the updated version is published here before the change takes effect.
